When you make homemade pizza, top quality toppings are important. Mozzarella cheese is one of the best ingredients to put on any pizza.

Most of my pizzas have been made with commercial grade mozzarella. I have gotten good results over the years and have no real complaints. This type of mozzarella is made from cow's milk and comes in blocks or is already shredded.

I used to buy the individual pre-shredded packets in the 8 ounce size. This is probably the worst way to buy mozzarella. I found a great way to save money by buying in bulk at a local food warehouse. I buy a 5 pound bag of mozzarella and divide it up into individual packets that I freeze until I need them. Surprisingly, mozzarella freezes well with no ill effects.

Buffalo Mozzarella (Mozzarella di Buffala) is made from buffalo milk and is very different from commercial mozzarella. Buffalo Mozzarella is shaped into a ball and is packed in a brine mixture rather than wrapped in plastic. Fresh cows milk mozzarella is similar to Buffalo Mozzarella and is also packed in brine. The taste of this fresh mozzarella is totally unique. It has a firm elastic texture that springs back to the touch. When using it to cook pizza, Mozzarella di Buffala tends to puddle and ooze over the entire pizza. This is heavenly!

The taste is incredibly fresh and creamy. There really is no comparison between Buffalo Mozzarella and its commercial grade cousin. If you can get Buffalo Mozzarella, or fresh cows milk mozzarella, try it on your next pizza. You will be pleasantly surprised!

Blackened Chicken Pizza With Tomato, Jalapeno Pepper, and Garlic

This spicy pizza recipe features chicken blackened on the stovetop in a fiery spice mix that adds excellent flavor to the pizza. The yellow pear tomato and vine-ripened red tomato mixed with red onion, jalapeno pepper, crushed garlic and fresh cilantro create a delicious, colorful and spicy salsa that compliments the chicken nicely. This is a great salsa for serving with other dishes or as a dip. As some people are not fans of the taste of cilantro, it can be omitted or fresh parsley substituted in its place.

This pizza, with some Cajun and Mexican-style heat may not be suitable for all tastes. The jalapeno could be dropped from the vegetable mixture to lessen the heat if desired. You are not likely to use the entire blackening spice blend, just store any remaining spice in an airtight container for another time. Pre-mixed blackening spice mixes are available at supermarkets, specialty food stores and at internet retailers. Look for them with other the other dried spices.

Blackened Chicken Pizza with Tomato, Jalapeno and Garlic


1 pound Boneless Skinless, Chicken Breasts - cut into bite-sized pieces
3 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
1 Yellow Pear Tomato, trimmed and diced
1 Vine-Ripened Tomato, trimmed and diced
1/4 cup Red Onion, thinly sliced
1-2 Fresh Jalapeno Pepper, seeded and chopped
1 Garlic Clove, crushed
3 tablespoons chopped Fresh Cilantro
1 tablespoon Fresh Lime Zest
1/2 Fresh Lime, juiced
Coarse Salt, to taste
Fresh Ground Black Pepper, to taste
1 Pre-Baked Thin Pizza Crust
1 (8 ounces) package Shredded Monterrey Jack Cheese

Blackening Spice Blend:
1-1/2 tablespoons Paprika
1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
3 teaspoons Coarse Salt
1-1/2 teaspoons Fresh Ground Black Pepper
1-1/2 teaspoons Onion Powder
1-1/2 teaspoons Dried Thyme
1-1/2 teaspoons Dried Oregano
1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper


1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
2. In a small bowl, combine blackening spice blend ingredients.
3. Add chicken breast pieces to small shallow bowl. Sprinkle spice mix over chicken breast pieces.
4. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully add vegetable oil to hot skillet.
5. Blacken chicken in oil for 2 to 3 minutes, or until fully cooked.
6. In a medium mixing bowl, combine tomatoes, red onion, jalapeno pepper, crushed garlic, chopped cilantro, lime zest, and lime juice.
7. Season the vegetables with coarse salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste.
8. Spread vegetables over pizza crust, and then arrange chicken over vegetables.
9. Top with shredded Monterrey Jack cheese.
10. Bake in preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until cheese melts.

If you've been wondering how to make raw flax seed crackers or just looking for a good basic easy, healthy raw flax seed cracker recipe then I'll make it easy for you. As a nurse, amateur chef and raw foodist - vegan I've been making raw food recipes for a decade and have made many different types of flax seed cracker recipes. I'm, going to show you the simplest and fastest way to make flax seed crackers.

There are many different types of raw food flax seed cracker recipes but starting with something simple and then adding spices or ingredients can make it much more flavorful.

Pizza Recipe

Flax seed crackers are dehydrated crackers. Usually a dehydrator is needed, although you can try to make them in an oven and keep it under 120 degrees - if it has a fan in back. However that can take quite a few hours and would be a major drain on your electric bill. And I don't recommend it - it may be too hot and damage the enzymes that dehydrating at a low temperature is supposed to preserve.

Dehydrators use very little energy. If you're eating raw foods now and don't have a dehydrator you definitely should get one. I find it an indispensable piece of equipment for raw fooders. It will give you much more in the way to choose from in terms of the number of raw food recipes you can prepare.

I make many different raw recipes in the dehydrator - for example, cookies, other types of raw crackers, raw pizza, raw crepes, mushroom appetizers, appetizers, raw onion bread and much more. Invest in a dehydrator if you can. Get the big square one with the fan in the back, because those are the best and will not heat the food. The 9-tray Excalibur is the one I use.

Okay for the simple, easy, basic raw flax seed cracker recipe see below. However it is bland and I would suggest my follow-up variations for the best and most flavorful crackers.

How To Make Flax Seed Crackers

Ingredients: flax seeds and pure unfiltered water

2 cup flax seeds soaked for 5- 8 hours or overnight - not ground up or you can use 2 cups of flax seeds unsoaked ground in a food processor

2 tsp sun dried sea salt

2 1/2 - 3 cups or more of pure filtered water

Mix together in mixing bowl and add more water if necessary. It should be very moist. Don't worry - it does not have to be perfect. They always turn out. Spread onto dehydrator trays about 1/4 inch thick.

Use a pizza cutter to cut into squares. Dehydrate at about 95 degrees for 12-24 hours or until they look dried and crispy. About half way through the process, re-score with the pizza cutter and place another tray on top and flip over and continue dehydrating.

Now this is a very basic flax seed cracker recipe. But you'll want to add spices or additional ingredients to make them flavorful. Otherwise they will be bland.

Optional: 3 teaspoons of Italian seasoning for a more pizza-like cracker or add 3 T caraway seeds for a caraway seed cracker or add 4 dates for a sweeter cracker or add 1 T coriander seeds or add 2 cups of unsoaked sunflower seeds that have been ground up fine in a food processor or any combination of any of these. You can also add 5 stalks of celery or the pulp from juicing carrots instead of some of the water as long as your final mixture is a little moist.

How to Make a Pizza - Step by Step Instructions

For anyone who loves pizza, learning to make their own at home is a major step forward. While restaurant pizza may be good, homemade pizza can be great! Moreover, despite what you may believe, making your own pizza is easy.

Not only can you create the gourmet pizza of your dreams at home, it will save you a lot of money. Think of the cost of getting takeout pizza over the course of a year... most pizza restaurants charge around for a hot, fresh pizza. If you had pizza twice a month for a year (assuming you only need one pizza each time), you would still be spending 4 per year on pizza alone. Double that if you have kids and need a minimum of two pizzas each time. Why not make them at home and save money?

Recipe for Homemade Pizza

What You Need

  • 1-1/2 cups warm water (105 to 115 degrees F)
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 3-1/2 cups bread flour
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Olive oil
  • Cornmeal
  • Tomato sauce
  • Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, shredded
  • Mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • Bell peppers, seeded and sliced
  • Pepperoni, thinly sliced

How to Make It

To make the dough, put the warm water in the bowl of an electric mixer. Sprinkle the yeast into the water and let it sit for a few minutes so the yeast dissolves. Stir if needed.

Mix in the olive oil, salt, sugar, and flour on low for about a minute. Knead the dough by hand or with a dough hook on the mixer until the dough is elastic and smooth. This takes about 10 minutes. Add more flour if the dough is too wet.

Place your dough into a lightly oiled bowl, turning the dough so it gets coated in oil. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit in a warm place until it doubles in size. This may take about 1 to 1-1/2 hours. After rising, you can use the dough or freeze it for future use.

If you have a pizza stone, warm it in the oven as it preheats to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

Remove the plastic cover from the pizza dough and punch it down so it deflates. Divide the dough ball in half, forming two round balls. Place each ball in its own oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let them sit for 10 minutes.

Get your toppings ready. Try not to overdo your toppings or your crust will end up soft.

Take one ball of dough and flatten it with your hands on a floured surface. Begin in the center and work out towards the edges. You want the dough to end up about 1/2 inch thick. Turn the dough and stretch it until it will not stretch any more. Let the dough relax for 5 minutes, then continue until your pizza dough is the size you want. Pinch the edges if you want a lip to form on the crust.

Brush the top with olive oil. Make dents with your fingers along the surface to prevent bubbling during cooking. Let the dough rest for 5 minutes. Repeat dough preparation with the second dough ball.

Sprinkle cornmeal on your pizza stone. Lay out your pizza dough and quickly cover the pizza with a little tomato sauce. Add your toppings and bake for 10 to 15 minutes. Let the pizza rest for a couple of minutes after baking before you slice it. Enjoy!

Vanilla Fudge Recipes - Easy Vanilla Fudge

This quick and simple recipe is made with sweetened condensed milk.

3 cups white sugar

Pizza Recipe

1/2 cup corn syrup

1 1/4 cup condensed milk

1/4 pound butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract


In a saucepan or double boiler, combine the white sugar, white syrup, condensed milk and butter. Cook over medium heat until fudge reaches the firm ball stage on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat and beat in the vanilla extract.

Turn the fudge out onto a prepared sheet of buttered wax paper. Let cool. Cut into squares.

This is a deliciously mouthwatering homemade vanilla fudge recipe made with, white chocolate candy bar, marshmallow crème and pecans.

2 1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup butter

5 oz. can evaporated milk

2 cups marshmallow crème

3/4 cup chopped pecans

1 teaspoon vanilla


Line a 9x13-inch pan with foil, let the foil extend over the sides of the pan. Butter foil thoroughly.

In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, butter and the milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Continue to boil for 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove pan from heat.

Add in the marshmallow crème, white chocolate bar, pecans and vanilla. Stir mixture until smooth. Pour into prepared pan. Let cool to room temperature. Refrigerate until firm.

Here's a great homemade vanilla fudge with crunchy black walnuts.

1 package vanilla bits

2 cups sugar

5 oz. evaporated milk

1/4 cup butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 cup black walnuts

7 oz. marshmallow crème


Grease a 9x9x2-inch pan.

In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, milk and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil. Continue boiling and stirring for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

Add in the vanilla bits, vanilla, walnuts and marshmallow crème, stirring until well blended. Pour fudge mixture into the prepared pan. Let cool. Cut into squares.

A rich, creamy and colorful fudge that's perfect for any occasion.

2 cups granulated sugar

1/2 cup dairy sour cream

1/3 cup light corn syrup

2 tablespoons butter

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons vanilla

1/2 cup Maraschino cherries, quartered

1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped


Butter an 8-1/2 x 4-1/2-inch loaf pan.

In a microwaveable bowl, combine the sugar, sour cream, corn syrup, butter and salt. Microwave on high heat for 5 minutes. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved.

Microwave on high heat for another 6 minutes, or until the mixture reaches 236 degrees on a candy thermometer. Let stand for 15 minutes (do not stir).

Add in the vanilla and beat the mixture about 6 minutes (until it starts losing its gloss).

Stir in the cherries and walnuts. Pour into prepared pan. Let cool. Cut into squares.

The history of Pizza Hut began in 1958 when Frank and Dan Carney opened the first store in Wichita Kansas. Frank and Dan were brothers and best friends. In 1958, they asked their mother to borrow 600.00 and they successfully started the now world renowned restaurant called Pizza Hut. The brothers decided that they wanted the word pizza in the name of the restaurant and since the place itself reminded them of a hut, they came up with Pizza Hut. They based their business on quality and customer service and proved to succeed with both.

In 1964, the brothers decided to change the look of Pizza Hut and they erected the buildings that are universally recognized and related to the Pizza Hut name. In 1970, the history of Pizza Hut made a huge move. Pizza Hut was now publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange. In 1973, Pizza Hut opened its first doors off of American soil. Japan, England, and Canada all housed the first of the international Pizza Hut businesses. In 1977 a huge company named Pepsico merged with Pizza Hut and Frank Carney still remained the leader even with the merged companies. He decided in 1980 it was his time to leave and pursue other personal goals and opportunities. By 1986, there were one hundred restaurants in the United Kingdom and five thousand establishments world wide. You will also need to purchase fresh fruit, which will be the toppings on your pizza. I recommend strawberries, blueberries, and kiwis, but any fruit will suffice.

There is nothing like a great sugar cookie recipe. Don't buy the roll of Pillsbury Dough, you can make a superb cookie that will remind you of the days when Grandma made them.

Grandma used to sit by the fire and drink her tea and Grandpa used to sip his coffee made from his French Press, before it was trendy. I loved seeing them sit there enjoying the day. When we walked in the house there were smells coming from the kitchen you just couldn't imagine. The sweet smell of warm sugar cookies invaded your senses. You knew today was going to be a treat.

It was a tradition that we enjoyed every year. The kitchen was filled with flour storms and the counters were sticky from Buttercream frosting. We had tin cookie cutters spread all over the table. I liked the boot best, my sister liked the angel.

Grandma's Favorite Sugar Cookie

1 cup white sugar

1 cup powdered sugar

1 cup butter

2 eggs beaten

1 tsp cream of tarter

1 tsp baking soda

4 cups flour

½ cup corn oil

Cream the sugars and butter together. Mix the beaten eggs, vanilla and corn oil, in. Add the dry ingredients .Mix all the ingredients well and chill overnight.
Bake at 375 F for 8-10 minutes....DO NOT OVERCOOK.

We used to make the funniest colors to decorate the cookies, most of them looked inedible. They tasted heavenly, though. We figured if we made them look gross enough, the adults would leave them alone. We were wrong. Everyone knew they were Grandma's famous sugar cookies from her handed down recipe book. 2 cups of powdered sugar

½ cup butter melted

1 ½ T Milk

1 tsp vanilla

Cream sugar, butter and vanilla. Add a small amount of milk (1 to 2 tablespoons). Beat until fluffy. If frosting is too sweet add a little more milk.
